Mutable Instruments Marbles

Another week, another modules from Mutable Instruments. This time their take on random... Mutable Instruments Marbles is a source of random gates and voltages, which offers an extensive amount of (voltage) control on all the different flavors of randomness it produces. The module gives the musician many different ways of imposing structure on the random events generated by the module: synchronization to external clocks, control of the repetition or novelty of the generated material, quantization of the voltages, or randomization of gates or voltages generated by traditional sequencers.

Rossum Electro Music Assimil8or

After years of development it's finally here!!  The Rossum Electro Music Assimil8or is an eight-voice, multi-timbral sampling module which can record mono or stereo material. It offers phase modulation via CVs or other samples. The voices can be freely configured. Samples can be extensively manipulated, looped and played back in various ways. In terms of sound, the module shines with high-fidelity, thanks to its 24 Bit AD and DA conversion. The Assimil8or features eight sample voices with individual outputs. For recording audio material, there are two input sockets. Either mono or stereo signals can be fed to the module. In addition to a pair of mix outputs (left / right), individual outs are available. The Assimil8or’s channels can be freely...

Strymon Magneto

It was only a matter of time before a Eurorack module was named after somebody from X-men. Frankly, we're surprised it's taken so long.  With the incredible Magneto from Strymon you can create huge, expansive soundscapes and evolving, otherworldly tones. Add layers upon layers of harmonic and rhythmic complexity within an enveloping stereo field. Infuse your rack with vintage warmth and retrofuturistic soul.Magneto is packed with powerful features while maintaining intuitive playability, Strymon have done a stellar job of making Magneto a stereo multi-head tape delay which also functions as a looper, phrase sampler, vintage spring reverb unit, phase-aligned clock multiplier, chaotic oscillator, zero latency sub-oscillator and more, with extensive CV I/O. These can't come soon enough!

Behold, Mutable Plaits!

Mutable Plaits is the spiritual successor of Mutable Instruments’ best-selling voltage-controlled sound source, Braids. Not just a mkII version: its hardware and software have been redesigned from scratch. Just like its predecessor, it offers direct access to a large palette of easily tweakable raw sonic material, covering the whole gamut of synthesis techniques. Gone are the screen, menu system, hidden settings, and the long list of somewhat redundant synthesis models. Thanks to additional CV inputs, and to the use of three timbre-shaping parameters per model, Plaits is straightforward to use, and much closer to the ideal of one synthesis technique = one model. What were fragmented islands of sound in Braids are now part of a continuum of sounds. Patch...

XAOC Sewastopol II out now

Sewastopol is a multifunction eurorack module designed for easy interfacing of external gear to your modular environment. It can export line and professional level audio, import audio from instruments and electroacoustic transducers, and analyze the incoming audio to generate voltages and triggers to control your modular system. This is a second, vastly improved revision to the original 2014 Sewastopol, featuring a completely redesigned preamplifier circuit, better ergonomics and various other improvements. MODULE OVERVIEW Sewastopol consists of four independent blocks: export attenuator and symmetrizer, import preamplifier, envelope follower, and voltage comparator. These blocks may be used separately, but they are internally normalled thus offering a default chain for processing your modular signals through outboard gear (effects, stompboxes, signal processors), and then...

More Intellijel storm back in

We've had a big delivery of Intelljel modules. This include the ever popular Shapeshifter. The weird and wonderful Rainmaker. Plus utility modules such as the new Mixup, Quadra and Quad VCA. Also back is the Tetrapad. Already a firm favourite here, this module adds so excellent hands on capabilities to your system. Highly recommended!

SOMA Lyra 8 in stock!

The amazing Lyra-8 by SOMA Laboratory is here and ready to ship. The Lyra-8 has a circuit which is fully analogue. The only digital component is the delay.  These units are built like a tank. Huge drones, chords and melodies can easily be coaxed from the eight notes. This synth is experimental, strange and often atonal. This, of course, is all part of its unique charm! Add to this the excellent FM and the Lyra-8 really comes to life and explores some awesome, next level sonic territory.  We've got a demo unit in store. Pop in and have a listen for yourselves!

Massive ALM Restock

The cupboards are bulging again, this time with a huge selection of ALM modules. The only disappointment was the lack of Pamela's New Workout. But don't fret, these are very nearly ready and should be shipping out again early December. We have plenty on back order, but if you'd like us to hold you one, please mail phil@londonmodular.co.uk and we can pop it aside, no problem

Modular Courses are go

We've had loads of customers asking if we'll ever be doing courses. It's taken a while to get everything together, but we're finally in a position to offer some modular training. Initially this will be for Beginners, covering basic understanding of control voltage and synthesis techniques.  We'll be adding Intermediate courses and then specific courses for such things as performance, drums and so on.  Each course will be 2 hours per week for 4 weeks. We'll provide cases, cables and power so you just have to rock up to our store on the day. Fro more info contact phil@londonmodular.co.uk or check out the here

New Website Launch!

After several months of redesigns and tests, our new website is finally here. Everything has been rebuilt from the ground up. It's more stable, more secure and it'll be easier to get to the things you want to check out. We'll have some new features and functions too.  We'd love to hear your feedback so we can continue to improve your overall experience. Please do get in touch to let us know what you think!
